全劇分四折，〈下山〉青春無敵、青春無懼、〈招親〉是少女英豪欲語還休；描寫穆桂英與楊宗保的打獵奇遇及私相婚配，愛情在意外中發生。後半呈現穆桂英的剛強豪氣，〈斬子〉有未過門的野蠻媳婦對抗將門公爹威權的複雜心理，最後〈破天門〉中穆桂英不讓鬚眉，勇冠三軍，一舉攻破天門一百零八大陣，班師凱旋，令人拍案叫好！

計畫成果資料：“Mu Gui-Ying”, a play in four acts. “Descending the Mountain”: Mu Gui-Ying, young, bold, and fearless, strides across the stage. “Seeking a Mate”: The young heroine hesitates to speak her mind. While out hunting, she encounters Yang Zhong-Bao. Unexpectedly, the two are smitten with each other and privately plan a marriage together. The final two acts portray Mu Gui-Ying’s fierce and combative spirit. In “Executing the Son”, the unbridled bride defies the patriarchs of the generals’ family. Mu Gui-Ying yields to no man in “Breaking Down the Heavens’ Gates”. Leading three armies, she decimates in a flash the enemy’s 108-Gate Battle Formation. Mu Gui-Ying is celebrated with cheers and ovations.
